Three-chamber septic tanks are reliable primary treatment devices, operating as passive, stable, simple, and cost-effective purification systems. They are used for the primary treatment of blackwater from toilets serving domestic or equivalent wastewater sources. The tank design forces wastewater to flow through the internal liquid mass, slowing down the hydraulic velocity and enabling settling of heavy solids and separation of lighter substances (such as oils and greases).
This promotes anaerobic fermentation, which leads to breakdown and transformation of suspended solids into dissolved and colloidal matter. The effluent leaving the tank thus contains a low concentration of solids, mostly converted into stable compounds.

The modular three-chamber biological septic tank is a primary treatment system for domestic and similar wastewater, suitable for residential buildings, communities, and hospitality facilities. Rototec’s range complies with UNI EN 12566-1 and the requirements of Italian Legislative Decree 152/2006.
Made of polyethylene (PE), it features three in-series compartments that ensure sedimentation, flotation, and anaerobic sludge digestion, equipped with biogas venting and easy inspection access. The modular NTSET / MTSET / ITSET design allows capacities up to 38,000 litres and 370 population equivalents (A.E.), with dedicated accessories (TAP800 covers, PP77 extensions) for underground installation and scheduled maintenance.
