Industrial Technology highlights Rototec’s innovations for sustainable water management

Rototec is featured in the latest edition of Industrial Technology with an in-depth article on three solutions developed to support more efficient and sustainable water management: REGRIGIO, SBR and KAR. The feature published by the magazine highlights three distinct application area greywater reuse, wastewater treatment and underground infrastructure brought together by a common focus on efficiency, reliability and sustainability.

REGRIGIO: giving greywater a second life

Rototec REGRIGIO system for greywater recovery and reuse
REGRIGIO is designed to recover, treat and reuse greywater for non-potable applications.

Showers, washbasins and bathtubs generate significant volumes of greywater every day, yet in many buildings this resource is simply discharged. In the feature published by Industrial Technology, Rototec presents REGRIGIO as a solution developed to recover, treat and reuse this water for non-potable applications.

The treated water can be used for toilet flushing, cleaning operations and landscape irrigation. The system combines sedimentation, filtration and membrane ultrafiltration with the aim of ensuring treated water quality and long-term operational reliability.

  • Recovery and reuse of greywater for non-potable applications.
  • Treatment process based on sedimentation, filtration and membrane ultrafiltration.
  • Compact design and automated operation.
  • Suitable for installation in garages, technical rooms or outdoor spaces.

SBR: compact technology for wastewater treatment

Rototec SBR system for compact wastewater treatment
The SBR system concentrates multiple treatment stages within a single tank.

Within Rototec’s wastewater treatment range, Industrial Technology highlights the SBR (Sequencing Batch Reactor) system as a compact and efficient solution for both domestic and industrial applications. One of its key distinguishing features is the ability to carry out multiple treatment stages within a single tank.

The process operates through programmed cycles including denitrification, biological reaction, sedimentation and extraction of the treated water. Unlike traditional continuous-flow systems, the SBR process operates in a discontinuous and controlled way, enabling effective management even when hydraulic loads vary.

  • Multiple treatment stages concentrated within a single tank.
  • Programmed cycles including denitrification, biological reaction, sedimentation and extraction of treated water.
  • Efficient management even in the presence of variable hydraulic loads.
  • Systems designed to serve from 1 to 50 population equivalents.
  • Automatic control of operating phases through an intelligent control panel.

KAR: a new standard for underground infrastructure

Rototec KAR line for underground infrastructure and trafficable installations
KAR is the modular trafficable line developed for underground installations requiring high strength and flexibility.

In the field of underground infrastructure, the article presents the KAR line as a response to increasingly complex projects requiring reliable and flexible installation solutions. For this area, Rototec has developed a new line of modular trafficable tanks.

The Infinitank KAR range is designed for underground installations at depths between 40 and 150 cm and to withstand traffic loads of up to 12 tonnes, without the need for reinforced concrete slabs. Made from high-performance polymers, these modular tanks are available in capacities from 11,000 to 40,000 litres and are designed to deliver mechanical strength, durability and installation flexibility.

  • Underground installations at depths between 40 and 150 cm.
  • Trafficable up to 12 tonnes without reinforced concrete slabs.
  • Available capacities from 11,000 to 40,000 litres.
  • Manufactured using high-performance polymers.
  • Development supported by advanced engineering analysis, geotechnical studies and more than one year of field testing under real conditions.

Three solutions, one shared approach

In the feature published by Industrial Technology, REGRIGIO, SBR and KAR are presented as three solutions through which technology and sustainability can help improve water resource management and support the development of more efficient infrastructure.
